I am very sad to hear the news that Thomas Kinkade has passed away. I am uploading this film in his memory. In 2004, our organization, Bridge Builders International, invited Thomas and Nanette to come to Latvia for a week filled with art, children, education, worship, networking and fun. Upon his return we created this 17 minute movie, “Painting the Light in Latvia”. I wrote the script. Photos and footage were provided by Bob Davis, Don Ferguson, Shelly Pierce, Renalda Ludvika, Andris Sprogis and Talis Talbergs. Music is by Kristine Dzelze, Valdis Indrisoniks, Casey Hurt and Crystal Chorlton Kelley. Jake Dockter put it together. For more information about Thomas Kinkade’s trip to Latvia and the art he created there, see www.bridgebuildersint.com

Visit the blog at: sagelighteditor.wordpress.com This tutorial shows how to use Sagelight Image Editor to blend the Oil Paint and Circle Paint with the original image to get a more ‘Thomas Kinkade’-type paintings in Sagelight. I also show a more watercolor-type painting at the end of the video. The Circle Paint and Oil Paint make interesting images on their own. But, when you combine them, you can make an even different style of painting. You can use many different settings to control how the painting looks. In this tutorial, I show two examples. One that is a nice Christmas Scene and has a very nice oil painting effect (a different type of oil painting than the Oil Paint Effect in Sagelight), with lots of sharp detail. The other one is more like a watercolor lanscape scene.
